Australia 3 Japan 1

Second half sub Tim Cahill came on to inspire the Socceroos to a 3-1 victory. Japan led most of the way until the Aussies woke up in the 83rd minute scoring three goals in eight minutes. The game was pretty much a snoozer with both teams failing to impress for large parts of the game. Insert Cahill and suddenly the Aussies began to threaten. Cahill's second goal was a beauty, shooting from outside the box and ricocheting off the far post and in. John Aloisi scored Australia's third goal to put the game out of reach.

Time to shower and get ready for U.S. v. Czech Republic.
